Overview

Rochester Community Animal Clinic (RCAC) is a high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter and vaccine clinic serving Rochester, New York’s low-income community, and numerous pet rescue and adoption organizations. Full—or part-time opportunities are available.   
  • Do you possess (or are interested in developing) skills necessary to perform an average of 15-20 dog and cat spay/neuter surgeries per shift?
  • Can you oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative patient care, anaesthetic protocols, patient monitoring, and emergency response?
  • Do you aspire to provide basic education & wellness care—including vaccines, routine testing, and parasite prevention—to animals owned by low-income clients and rescue organizations?
  • Can you assess individual patient issues and provide sensible, low-cost, compassionate solutions?
  • Can you demonstrate strong communication skills and lead the team with caring, clear, and confident guidance and support?
  • Are you committed to openly communicating with the medical director by addressing patient concerns and staff needs and offering positive suggestions for improving speed, efficiency, and quality of care?
  • Do you desire and have the ability to work with our large and active feral cat (TNVR) community?
  • Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment and working as part of a dynamic team?


Requirements

We are looking for a veterinarian who is:

  • A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with clients.  
  • Committed to practicing high-quality medicine. 
  • Comfortable with or willing to learn to manage advanced medical and surgical cases.
