Overview

Are you a new or recent graduate considering a traditional internship, but looking for a better wage, a better quality of life, and a flexible mentorship period with a transition into an independent Associate as your skill set improves?

In the Northwest Chicagoland area, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated equine veterinarians for both our well-established Junior Associate Program, as well as an experienced equine veterinarian interested in gold standard GP work or a mixture of sports medicine and surgical cases, to join as an Associate Veterinarian. Our team includes a board-certified surgeon who values education, and a talented team of veterinarians with a variety of interests and expertise. Our ideal associates are committed and motivated to providing the best care possible for our hospitalized, outpatient, and ambulatory patients. Veterinarians with an interest in acupuncture or VSMT are encouraged to apply.

Our practice offers the opportunity to work in a full-service outpatient facility and surgical center with modern diagnostic and treatment options.  Chicago Equine provides clients with 24 hour emergency and critical care availability.  Because our team’s quality of life is a top priority, emergency coverage is shared among Chicago Equine veterinarians and a select group of referring equine veterinarians, resulting in a minimal on-call commitment consisting of one weekend every 6 weeks for a 12-18 week time period (and typically one or maybe two weekday ERs during that same time period).  Our team approach makes us uniquely able to serve all of our client’s needs and provide advanced diagnostics, hospitalization and surgery services to the patients of local referring veterinarians.

Qualified candidates can expect a compensation package including, but not limited to:

– Minimum base salary of $110k plus production for experienced Associates

– Salary of $50k with an additional $5k cost of living stipend for Junior Associates during their mentorship period, with an increase in pay and transition to pro-sal compensation after transitioning to Associate

– Three weeks PTO (Two weeks for Junior Associates during their first 12 months, with an automatic increase to three weeks after one year of employment)

– $3000 annual CE stipend with additional PTO days for CE purposes

– A minimum of $10k in relocation assistance, or a travel stipend for non-local candidates interested in exploring the area before making a permanent move.

– A comprehensive benefits package including license and dues reimbursement
